Sandy Point Lodge
is on Gordon Lake,
which is situated northeast of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories on the
rocky and rugged Canadian Shield. Gordon Lake is one of the lakes on the
winter ice road to the diamond mines. We are only accessible by float plane
in the summer.
Our packages include picking you up at the
Yellowknife airport and transporting you to the float plane docks of Great
Slave Lake; from there we take off in a Cessna 185, a turbo Beaver, a Cessna
Caravan, DeHavilland Turbo Otter or Twin Otter, depending on the size of
your group.
We land on Gordon Lake after a scenic half hour
flight. With the long sunny days of summer you can get settled in your
cabin, then head out on the 50 km long lake right away. When you return we
will feed you a delicious meal and you can really begin to relax and enjoy
the surroundings.
For the duration of your stay, it will be just
the lodge guests on the entire lake to explore, fish, eat and relax. You
will truly enjoy our little corner in the boreal wilderness. |
